La Maison de La Terrasse, Fleury d'Aude, Languedoc Roussillon, France (Bed and Breakfast (B&B)) The historic village of Fleury d'Aude in coastal Aude in the Languedoc is situated at the foot of the Massif de la Clape, a natural protected site extending over 15000 hectares ideal for hiking, biking and even rock climbing. A short drive of only 8kms through this small, stony mountain range and you will find yourself at Saint-Pierre la Mer and the sandy beaches of the Mediterranean. Only 10kms from Narbonne with its great road and rail links (A9 motorway and TGV Paris and car-train from Calais), Fleury is the ideal base from which to explore the region whether you are househunting, visiting or simply passing through. Until the end of the Middle Ages, Fleury was a fortified village built on a hill overlooked by a castle. Much of the old chateau ramparts and gateways are still evident today, and our typical French house is situated on the historical touristic circular walk on "Rampe de la Terrasse" leading up to the original courtyard of the castle, around which the old village has been built. This overlooks narrow, cobbled streets and from here you can also enjoy views of the surrounding hills and vineyards. Our bed and breakfast accommodation consists of a SUITE covering the entire top floor of our village house for up to four people. There are two double bedrooms (1 double bed and 2 twin beds), each with its own wardrobe with linen and towels provided. Both rooms are at the front of the house overlooking the "Rampe de La Terrasse" with charming views over terracotta rooftops and surrounding countryside. There is a comfortable lounge area with 5-seater sofa, TV/DVD player and a library of DVDs - a quiet, private place to read and relax. Tea and coffee making facilities are provided. We also offer high-speed internet access. There is a large, modern shower room with double sink and WC for exclusive use for occupants of the suite. Continental breakfast served on the sunny terrace or covered verandah is the ideal way to begin your day. PLEASE NOTE THAT OUR RATES ARE FOR THE ENTIRE SUITE AND VARY ACCORDING TO THE NUMBER OF OCCUPANTS. We also offer secure, garage parking for up to 2 cars at an extra charge of 5 euros per vehicle, per night. Alternatively, there is ample parking in the village square close by. Whilst there are numerous restaurants and take-aways to choose from very nearby, should you wish to eat in, you can take advantage of our "Aperitif/BBQ pack" which starts from 25 euros for two people. Fleury is very much a thriving community steeped in history, enjoying many annual fetes and is served by all necessary commerces; it even boasts its own communal swimming pool. The nearby Roman town of Narbonne with its many attractions, including the Canal du Robine, theatre, cathedral, museums, leisure complex, market hall, countless restaurants and shops. Fleury is equi-distant from the airports of Carcassonne and Perpignan (40 minutes), 1 hour from Montpellier and 1.5 hours from Toulouse. Only an hour's drive from the Spanish border, you can be in chic Barcelona, the capital of Catalan Spain and the Costa Brava within 2 hours. An hour's drive inland will take you to the river at Roquebrun, where you can enjoy the thrill of kayaking and for the more adventurous, white-water rafting. Fleury is also just a 2 hour drive from the ski stations of Camurac, Les Angles and Font Romeu in the Pyrenees. Please See Our Website For More Photos And Information.
