Alternatively we have a 1st floor apartment which sleeps 6 3beds 2baths lounge & kitchen. Golfing is nearby, the beaches of Benidorm, Villa Joyosa, El Compello are 25mins and 45 minutes to Alicante airport, a car is recommended. The area is great for walking, climbing and cycling. The village of Relleu has local shops and good restaurants. The village is overlooked by an ancient Moorish Castle which is now in ruins, built in the 11th century, the Moors worked the land which was originally known for its wine. Today Olives and Almonds are the main crops. The Moors departed 1609, the village now has a museum which shows the finds from an archeology dig. The beautifully decorated church dates from the 17th century and is situated in the village square and has the oldest bells in the province. Fiestas are great fun, be warned, they can be noisy, so if you are looking for peace and quiet do check with us for the dates of the fiestas.
