Houhora Lodge & Homestay, Kaitaia, Northland, New Zealand (Bed and Breakfast (B&B))

Houhora Lodge & Homestay, Kaitaia, Northland
Houhora Lodge is located in the heart of the Far North of New Zealand, nestled between spectacular 90 Mile Beach and gorgeous Great Exhibition Bay and is ideally situated to cater for your excursions to the very top of New Zealand.

Description of Surrounding Area.
This truly subtropical slim finger of New Zealand is only 10km wide in parts so there are three magnificient untrammelled coastlines to explore within easy commuting distance. Experience the wild west coast, the east coast with its two harbours (Parengarenga and Houhora), and the mystical North at Cape Reinga and Spirits Bay.
There are well marked hiking trails for the keen hiker or simply stroll along the unspoiled and uninhabited beaches of Henderson Bay, Rarawa Beach, Spirits Bay or Te Werehi, collecting shells as you go. Observe the amazing variety of sea, sand and land birds or maybe even catch a glimpse of dolphins in the surf. See the wild horses in the forest or on 90 Mile Beach.
An easy stroll from the lodge takes you to Houhora bowling green or tennis courts and we are a few minutes drive to New Zealand's northernmost golf course. Four renowned surf beaches, (Ahipara, Rarawa Beach, Henderson Bay and Spirits Bay) located on three coasts ensure great odds of catching a good wave or borrow our toboggans and slide down the sand dunes at Te Paki Stream. Enjoy horse riding in Te Aupouri Forest and on 90 Mile Beach, and through the spectacular scenery at Spirits Bay, or hire a kayak at Wagener Park and paddle around Houhora Harbour.
The waters surrounding this slim finger of land are renowned for its excellent fishing, both sports and game fishing, and charter vessels are available in Houhora Harbour.

Description of Accommodation

A large patio area on the western side enjoys the afternoon sun, and a deck faces the early morning sunrises.

Description of Rooms/Suites
Two of our spacious guest rooms are on the northern wing and have their own entrances, ensuites, TV, king sized or twin beds, good views over Houhora Harbour and Mt Camel and are peaceful and quiet.
